A new facility will host cutting-edge production and assembly processes and support the scale-up of future battery technology.
This new battery research and scale-up facility will build on the West Midlands reputation for automotive expertise and research and development (R&D), helping to establish the UK as one of the world leader’s in battery technology and innovation.
The project is part of the UK government’s £246 million investment in battery technology – the Faraday Battery Challenge – and will be run by a consortium led by Coventry and Warwickshire LEP and including Warwick Manufacturing Group. The competition to win the funds was overseen by the Automotive Propulsion Centre (APC) and judged by an independent panel.
